The main character - Bogdan Ziętek - claims to "have a calling for beautiful women". And beautiful women are like a rushing stream: they will murmur, infatuate, and then leave. That is why Bogdan keeps his own women at home. All of them, except for his wife, are made out of wood. In over 40 years, he has sculpted several hundred of them. The film is an ironic look at the passion of an amateur sculptor, a person whose closed world seems to have lost the boundries between dream and reality.
