A 17-year-old high school girl is expecting a baby. The father is an unemployed 22-year-old. The girl's parents decide to give the baby up for adoption. Eliza, a married mother of four, becomes pregnant. She also decides to give the baby up for adoption. But in both cases the adoptions don't go through.
