Inspired by a true story, Immensity of Justice tells the story of a high-profile court case. A television journalist is murdered. The police soon arrest her colleague, Jerzy Kuter. They had been in a relationship for over a year. He claims he has nothing to do with her murder. And although the prosecution finds no direct evidence against him, he is convicted.
Łukasz, fresh out of law school, learns about this story a few years later. He decides to look into the case to see if Jerzy Kuter did in fact kill his girlfriend. He starts analyzing the case files. He finds possible evidence of Kuter's innocence that had been overlooked in the investigation. Pardoned by the president, Kuter is no longer in jail. Łukasz tries to convince him to fight for acquittal.
