A record of a few months of work on Katyń, showing the atmosphere on the set as well as the magnitude of the machinery, yet at the same time a personal portrayal of the Master of Polish Cinema. Four young documentary filmmakers, graduates from the Andrzej Wajda Master School of Film Directing, were given a chance to take a closer look at the Master's work. They were with him during moments of joy, doubt, success and defeat, and also during discussions with others. We can see what the real Andrzej Wajda is like, with his sensitivity, passion, precision, and his feeling of having a mission to fulfil.
